Description
The Gustave Roussy Medical Imaging Department is organised in two major sectors:
- The work of the Diagnostic Imaging Department focuses on establishing a diagnosis, characterising the tumour lesions, and investigating for distant spread. It also ensures follow-up and assessment of treatment. All of this is based on a variety of imaging modalities (ultrasound, CT, MRI, mammography etc.).
- The Nuclear Medicine and Endocrinology Department is responsible for comprehensive management of endocrine gland tumours: thyroid, adrenal and neuroendocrine. This unit depends on technical imaging facilities employing radio-isotopes (isotope scanning and PET-scan) which facilitate the administration of radio-isotope treatment.

- Definition of the place of spectral imaging in ENT conditions
- Evaluation of whole-body MRI protocols and functional MRI
- Continuing developments in angiomammography
- New assessment criteria in clinical research (in collaboration with DITEP)
Nuclear Medicine Department
- Introduction of new isotopes
- Participation in trials of novel therapies
