16 Researchers from Gustave Roussy Among the Most Influential in the World
Each year, Clarivate / Web of Science publishes a list of the most cited researchers worldwide, categorized into 21 fields. Once again, Gustave Roussy and its Foundation rank among the most represented French institutions, reflecting its research's excellence and global influence.
Experts in immunology, precision medicine, microbiota, or prostate and skin cancers, 16 researchers from Gustave Roussy and its Foundation feature in the 2024 Clarivate / Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers ranking, which highlights the most globally cited researchers.
“Each researcher selected has authored multiple highly cited papers which rank in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year,” Clarivate explains on its website. The organization further clarifies that “citation activity is not the sole selection indicator. This list, based on citation activity, is then refined using qualitative analysis and expert judgment as we observe for evidence of community-wide recognition from an international and wide-ranging network of citing authors”.
Across the global community of scientists and social science experts, only 1 in 1,000 researchers makes it to the Highly Cited Researchers list.
Once again, Gustave Roussy and its Foundation position themselves as one of the French institutions hosting the highest number of highly cited researchers. This achievement highlights not only the Institute’s research excellence but also its proactive policy in advancing scientific progress.
