Gustave Roussy comes in 3rd place in the ranking of specialized hospitals published by the American magazine Newsweek. This place on the world podium of the best hospitals in oncology reflects the international base of the Institute, both in terms of clinical research and major publications and in terms of innovations towards patients living with cancer.
The “World’s Best Specialized Hospital” ranking, published on September 14 by Newsweek magazine and Statista, identifies and honors the best hospitals around the world in 11 disciplines including oncology. For the year 2023, Gustave Roussy ranks 3rd in the world for the best cancer hospitals.
“This distinction makes us extremely proud. This is a recognition for all the professionals at Gustave Roussy who mobilize on a daily basis to cure cancer in adults and children in the 21st century. This 3rd place in the world also forces us to improve our infrastructures to offer our patients the best care pathways beyond treatment. This is Gustave Roussy's ambition for 2030 with massive real estate investments to renovate our hospitalization units, create new buildings dedicated to the prevention and rapid diagnosis, and build a new research campus", comments the Prof. Fabrice Barlesi, Managing Director of Gustave Roussy.
Recognized as a major player worldwide for its early trials in immunotherapy and precision medicine, the institute has many researchers who are regularly awarded prizes at international congresses or learned societies.
This ranking was established based on the results of an online survey conducted in the summer of 2022 among 40,000 health professionals (doctors, caregivers, hospital directors).
