Dr Bernard Escudier
A medical oncologist at Gustave Roussy for many years, Dr Bernard Escudier has primarily worked on kidney cancer and the development of new therapeutic strategies for this disease. He is still a member of the Genitourinary Oncology Committee at Gustave Roussy and is the author of over 500 scientific publications in renowned journals.
Since 2017, Dr Escudier has also held the role of medical mediator and is responsible for managing patient and family complaints and concerns. In this capacity, he maintains regular contact with the User Representatives (UR), the representatives of patients and families within the institution. One of the main objectives of his role is to advise the management on recurring dysfunctions, in order to implement improvement processes within Gustave Roussy and ensure their proper execution.
He also chairs the CDU (Commission of Users) and participates in the Patient Experience Collective (CEP), whose aim is to better consider the views of patients and carers in the operations of Gustave Roussy.
