The Institute is launching the Gustave Roussy Prize to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of its visionary founder. With an endowment of €200,000, this scientific award will annually recognize a researcher whose discoveries in the fight against cancer have a major impact on patient care.
Born 150 years ago, Professor Gustave Roussy permanently transformed oncology by establishing the first consultation entirely dedicated to cancer patients in 1921. With the launch of the Gustave Roussy Prize, the Institute pays tribute to his legacy by annually honoring a leading global figure in oncology whose discoveries improve cancer patient care, as well as contribute to a better understanding and prevention of the disease.
For this inaugural edition of the Gustave Roussy Prize, applications must be submitted no later than December 20, 2024, via the following link: https://forms.office.com/e/rBSaqphxwG.
The jury, composed of international experts independent of Gustave Roussy, will evaluate submissions based on the impact of the discoveries and their direct benefits for patients.
The award ceremony will take place on February 4, 2025, coinciding with World Cancer Day.
The Gustave Roussy Prize is supported by Pierre Fabre Laboratories as founding sponsor.
